Special Sitting of Criminal Mentions Court (Court 4A) on Sunday, 2 January 2022

In view of the New Year’s Day public holiday, there will be a special sitting of the Criminal Mentions Court on Sunday, 2 January 2022, in Court No. 4A.

This special sitting, presided by a District Judge, will enable constitutional and statutory compliance by the investigation agencies to produce all arrested persons before a Magistrate within 48 hours. There will also be a Field Magistrate on duty during this period.

The District Judge on duty will enable arrested persons to be produced before the Court on 2 January 2022 and, where appropriate, for them to be released on bail.

These special arrangements are in furtherance of the State Courts' mission to administer justice.
