Enabling Access to Justice

What is Access to Justice (A2J)

The Courts exist to serve everyone, regardless of their background or experience. "Access to Justice" is about removing the barriers that make courts feel out of reach, ensuring the system is fair, easy to navigate, and open to all. Our goal is to make sure everyone has the information and support they need to use the courts with confidence.

Browse our latest initiatives and guides below to find the help you need.

This digital tool helps users identify their topics of concern (such as civil claims or family matters) on the SG Courts website and narrow their information search by answering a series of questions.
This series of videos serves as a guide for first-time court users. It helps them navigate every aspect of the court visit, such as the location of the courts, courtroom layout, dress code, courtroom etiquette, and their options after the hearing.

You have the right to engage a lawyer or represent yourself in court. Find out where you can seek help based on your legal issue and location by using the legal help finder.
As part of our "Access to Justice" efforts to strengthen public trust in the judicial system, events have been organised to help people better understand what the Courts can and cannot do for them. One such initiative is "Justice Awareness @ Heartlands," launched by the Singapore Courts in 2025 to bring the Courts closer to the community. These events cover a range of topics of public interest, including the options and channels available to those seeking justice.
