The Singapore International Commercial Court Rules 2021 came into operation on 1 April 2022.
Generally, the Singapore International Commercial Court Rules 2021 apply to: (a) a case commenced in the SICC on or after 1 April 2022; (b) a case commenced in the General Division on or after 1 April 2022 and transferred to the SICC; (c) any proceedings for the transfer, from the General Division to the SICC, of a case commenced on or after 1 April 2022; (d) an appeal to the Court of Appeal, filed on or after 1 April 2022, from a judgment or order of the SICC; and (e) an originating application to the Court of Appeal, filed on or after 1 April 2022, in relation to a judgment or an order of the SICC.
If the parties concerned consent in writing, the Singapore International Commercial Rules 2021 apply with the necessary modifications to: (a) a case commenced in the SICC before 1 April 2022; (b) a case commenced in the General Division before 1 April 2022 and transferred to the SICC; (c) an appeal to the Court of Appeal, filed before 1 April 2022, from a judgment or order of the SICC; and (d) an originating application to the Court of Appeal, filed before 1 April 2022, in relation to a judgment or an order of the SICC.
