What are unclaimed funds

Unclaimed funds refer to funds arising from cases heard in the Supreme Court where parties who are entitled to them, have failed to claim ownership for.

The Supreme Court encourages parties who have unclaimed funds to make claims to collect these monies promptly. If no claims have been made for 6 years, the unclaimed funds will be transferred to the government.

Parties are advised to seek legal advice on the process of making such claims.

Check for unclaimed funds

The Accountant-General publishes annually in the Government Gazette list of accounts (PDF, 1156 KB) that have not been dealt with for 4 years or more in the government gazette.

You may also check on unclaimed funds in other deposit accounts.
