Unavailability of eLitigation services

The eLitigation services will be unavailable from Monday, 28 July 2025 at 9.00pm; they will remain unavailable until Thursday, 31 July 2025 at 11.59pm in order to deploy urgent system patches.

The Service Bureau will be open and will continue to accept documents from self-represented persons during the period, although the documents will only be filed on eLitigation after the period. To allow the Service Bureau to thereafter expeditiously process all documents that are accepted during the period, law firms which are eLitigation subscribers are advised not to use the Service Bureau during the period, but to file their documents from their front-end systems after the period and seek backdating, where appropriate.

Where the deadline for the filing of any document falls within the period, or if any person who needs to file any document or make any urgent application during the Period, that person may see the relevant Duty Registrar in the Supreme Court Registry, State Courts or Family Justice Courts for directions. The relevant Duty Registrar may:
(a) Extend the time for the filing of that document to a date on or after 31 July 2025
(b) Grant permission for that document or application to be filed in hard copy, or for a hard copy of that document or application to be used (for the purposes of a hearing), on a solicitor’s undertaking to file the same electronically on or after 31 July 2025 or on any other condition.
(c) Make such other order as may be appropriate in the circumstances.

When filing in eLitigation after the Period, the person filing may seek a backdating of such filings to the date of acceptance by the Duty Registrar in accordance with the directions previously given by the Duty Registrar.

Scheduled hearings will proceed, unless parties require access to their court documents on the eLitigation system in order to conduct their hearing – in that situation, the parties are to attend the hearing and notify the court, who may decide whether to grant an adjournment of the hearing.
